Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Pharma Business Analyst in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The role supports pharmaceutical and life sciences stakeholders by gathering, recording, and validating business needs for technology and process improvement programs.
Key Responsibilities
The analyst will review existing business workflows, identify issues and opportunities for improvement, and convert business needs into functional specifications for technical delivery teams. The position also involves creating process flows, use cases, and user stories, assisting with solution design and implementation, and working with cross-functional teams to make sure outcomes align with regulatory, operational, and commercial goals. In addition, the role includes contributing to testing, training, and change management efforts, tracking performance indicators, and helping drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring strong analytical capability to interpret data, spot patterns, and produce practical insights for pharma and life sciences operations. Experience in business analysis is important, including requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder coordination. Clear communication skills are needed to work with both technical and non-technical audiences and to present information effectively. Candidates should also have experience in business process mapping, optimization, and documentation for scalable and compliant operations, along with the ability to define, manage, and prioritize requirements in regulated settings.
Industry and Technical Background
Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or life sciences is preferred, especially exposure to commercial, clinical, or regulatory work. Familiarity with analytics or BI tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau is helpful, and basic SQL knowledge is an added advantage.
Education and Work Environment
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Information Systems, or a similar field is required, while an advanced degree or relevant certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA would be beneficial. The candidate must be able to work on-site in the New York City Metropolitan Area, juggle multiple priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-moving global environment.
