Role Overview
Abell Pest Control is seeking a Pest Technician for its Elliot Lake, Ontario location. This role is suited to someone who enjoys hands-on work, customer interaction, and a fast-moving route-based schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Assess each pest issue and recommend the most effective treatment approach, which may involve pesticides, mechanical traps, exclusion/blocking methods, or other control techniques.
- Reach out to prospective customers and help generate new business.
- Use fumigants, pesticides, and power-spraying equipment safely, while following all product directions and protective equipment requirements.
- Keep the company vehicle stocked and organized with the right tools, equipment, and materials.
- Plan and manage your route and daily schedule so customer visits are completed on time.
- Work on-site to understand customer needs and improve their pest control program.

Requirements
- A valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Background in customer service.
- A valid Structural Licence, or willingness to obtain a Pesticide Licence.
- Sales experience is considered an advantage.
- Bilingual ability is an asset.
Additional Information
The employer is looking for someone who is self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable spending much of the day on the road. Prior experience in the field is preferred, but candidates with transferable experience from route sales, route service, field sales, field service, service technician roles, territory representative work, restaurant management, restaurant serving, construction, hotel management, sales, or customer service may also be considered. The stated pay range is $42,000 to $56,000, with commission and incentive bonuses on top of the base salary.
