Role overview
This position is focused on delivering residential pest control services for Western Exterminator Company, part of the Rentokil family of businesses. The job centers on inspecting homes, identifying pest activity, applying the right treatment methods, and helping customers reduce the chance of future infestations. What you will do
- Inspect customer properties carefully to spot pest activity, damage, and possible access points.
- Select and apply approved pest control solutions such as chemicals, baits, and traps while following safety rules.
- Explain prevention steps to customers and share practical guidance for keeping pests away.
- Maintain customer relationships, arrange and verify appointments, support sales to existing accounts, and help bring in new customers.
- Keep pest control tools and equipment in proper working order, stocked, and ready for use.
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal rules related to pest control products and safety.
- Operate a company-provided service vehicle safely; routine maintenance is included.
Working conditions
- You may need to work in tight or enclosed spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, and passageways.
- The role can involve exposure to animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electricity, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals; training is provided for safe handling.
- Work may take place indoors and outdoors in the local climate, with weather gear supplied by the company.
- The job requires frequent movement, including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and going up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles.
- Personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator, must be worn when required.
Requirements
- Must be clean shaven for safety because respirator equipment needs a proper facial seal.
- High school diploma or GED, or a comparable mix of education, training, and experience.
- Valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
- Any licenses or certificates required by federal, state, or local rules will be covered by the employer.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed.
- Willingness to learn and grow knowledge across all areas of pest control.
- Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Basic math ability, including following label instructions for product mixing.
- Customer-facing experience is preferred.
