Job description

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Personnel Security Specialist to manage and maintain company and government-inspectable records and procedures, facilitating employee security clearances and positions of trust. This role requires advanced consulting expertise, comprehensive industry knowledge, and the ability to develop creative solutions for complex challenges. The specialist will work independently, mentor team members, and oversee security processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and uphold security programs covering physical, personnel, and information security aspects within DoD or Intelligence Community frameworks.
  • Manage personnel security tasks including clearance processing through systems such as DISS, EQIP, and Scattered Castles, conduct background investigations, and oversee physical security of sensitive areas like closed zones and SCIFs.
  • Lead classification and handling of sensitive materials, ensuring proper marking and validating security clearances.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve security objectives.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with DoD or Intelligence Community security programs.
  • At least 2 years specializing in personnel security functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of IC and DoD regulations related to collateral and SCIF management.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and an active passport valid for at least six months for visa purposes.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent organizational and strong verbal and written communication abilities are highly valued.

Applicants must undergo a security investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (TS/SCI clearance required). The position involves remote work but may occasionally require presence at a company or customer site.
