Utilize your skills in banking, lending, and relationship management to assist customers in making confident financial choices. Whether they are purchasing their first home, managing loans, increasing savings, or planning ahead, your contribution will help customers progress financially.

This opening is ideal for current Customer Specialists eager to expand their expertise or experienced banking professionals seeking greater involvement in managing customer relationships and guiding financial wellbeing discussions.

Based in Kaitaia, you will become part of a supportive and closely-knit team dedicated to aiding the local community while nurturing fulfilling careers within ASB.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships, confidently guiding customers through varied banking and lending discussions.
  • Assist customers with their lending, home ownership, savings, and financial wellbeing needs.
  • Educate clients on ASB’s products, services, and digital banking tools, offering tailored recommendations to simplify banking.
  • Actively identify opportunities to strengthen customer relationships and enhance outcomes.
  • Demonstrate agility in managing priorities and delivering excellent customer experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to meet shared objectives and foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Candidate Profile

We seek individuals who genuinely care about helping others succeed and are motivated by cultivating lasting client relationships.

Candidates may have prior experience in banking or come from sales, lending, relationship management, or other customer-centric roles where trust and meaningful conversation drive success.

Essential attributes include strong communication skills, the capacity to simplify complex topics, and a relationship-first mindset emphasizing trust and credibility.

Adaptability to change, a commitment to balancing customer satisfaction with compliance and risk management, along with eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic environment, are also key.

What We Offer

  • Competitive remuneration aligned with the market
  • Exclusive banking benefits for staff
  • Life and income protection insurance coverage
  • Continuous professional development and career advancement opportunities
  • Access to top-tier training and educational resources
  • A supportive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture

Additional Information

This position is a full-time role requiring 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, based at the Kaitaia Advice Centre.

The successful candidate will embody ASB’s core values of Care, Courage, and Curiosity, demonstrating a strong passion for exceptional customer service and a commitment to assisting New Zealanders in advancing their finances.
