Role Overview

This full-time remote position involves working as a Persian OPI (Over-the-Phone Interpretation) and VRI (Video Remote Interpretation) Interpreter for Kalamcx. The primary responsibility is to facilitate accurate, culturally sensitive, and impartial communication by orally interpreting conversations between Persian and English in real time via phone and video platforms. Routine duties include attentive listening, precise message delivery without adding or omitting information, maintaining confidentiality, and adapting language use to varied sectors such as healthcare, government, legal, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide precise and culturally appropriate consecutive or simultaneous interpretation between Persian and English across phone and video channels.
• Listen attentively and convey messages accurately, without distortion or omission.
• Honor confidentiality and remain neutral in all interpreted conversations.
• Utilize designated platforms and tools as per company guidelines.
• Manage both scheduled and on-demand interpretation calls efficiently.
• Work with internal support teams to address and resolve any technical or service issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Fluent proficiency in Persian and English with strong listening, speaking, and comprehension skills.
• Prior experience in consecutive or simultaneous interpretation, particularly in OPI/VRI settings, is advantageous.
• Ability to preserve accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality during interpretation in varied professional contexts.
• Comfortable using basic technical tools including a stable internet connection, computers or smart devices, and voice/video communication platforms.
• Strong customer service focus, professional conduct, and ability to engage respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Reliable time management skills enabling full-time remote work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of terminology pertinent to healthcare, legal, governmental, or business environments is a plus.
• Previous interpreter experience coupled with relevant certifications or formal training in language services is preferred.
