Position Summary

The Perinatal Behavioral Health Coach (PBHC) acts as an essential part of the collaborative care team—consisting of OB providers, Care Coordinators, Licensed Therapists, and Psychiatric Consultants—by delivering personalized virtual coaching to patients enrolled in the program. The PBHC contributes to clinical management by collaborating closely with team members.

Key Duties

• Providing telehealth-based behavioral support to pregnant and postpartum individuals.
• Educating patients about perinatal mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Recording patient progress and session notes accurately within a HIPAA-compliant electronic medical record and client registry.
• Regularly communicating patient status with the FamilyWell care team.
• Identifying cases requiring intensified mental health care and alerting Care Managers and Psychiatric Consultants accordingly.
• Assisting patients nearing discharge with relapse prevention planning and self-management strategies.

Qualifications and Credentials

• Minimum of one year experience in coaching or direct work with perinatal or perimenopausal populations.
• Completion of FamilyWell’s Perinatal Behavioral Health Coaching Certification within three months of hire if not previously obtained.
• A strong commitment to advancing perinatal mental health, especially among vulnerable groups.
• Preferred bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related disciplines.
• Certification as a Behavioral Health Coach via FamilyWell or PMH-C certification from Postpartum Support International is highly preferred.

Additional Information

The position reports to the Head of Coaching Services and offers compensation of $25 per 30-minute session, with an expected commitment of 10 to 25 hours weekly. This is a remote role.
