Job description
Role overview
This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded, multi-billion-dollar hedge fund in London as a Performance Analyst supporting front-office investment activity. The position sits close to the investment teams and is designed for someone who can initially work alongside an experienced performance specialist while gradually taking fuller responsibility for selected strategies.
The role is closely connected to European investment strategies and involves frequent interaction with portfolio managers, as well as sales, marketing, and product specialist teams. A key part of the job is building strong working relationships with senior stakeholders and developing a detailed, technical understanding of the firm’s investment processes and strategies.
Core focus
You will be expected to help improve and automate reporting workflows, contribute to dashboard creation for investment teams, and use technical tools to support analysis and reporting. Over time, you will take on more direct ownership of specific strategies, reducing the load on the hiring manager as you progress.
Technical development
The firm expects the successful candidate to build strong capability in Python, SQL, and Power BI. The role is heavily focused on automation, and the employer will fully subsidise external courses to help develop additional coding skills through on-the-job learning.
Candidate profile
The preferred background is 4 to 7 years of experience in a performance analyst role, although candidates a little outside that range may also be considered. Professionals from alternative data or portfolio analytics backgrounds may also be suitable, provided they have Python experience and a strong interest in expanding their technical skill set. An excellent academic record is also important.
Package and working arrangement
The role offers a base salary of up to £95,000 plus a bonus that can represent a significant share of base pay for top performers. The employer is known for providing one of the stronger benefits packages in the hedge fund sector. Hybrid flexibility is available, with work from home possible every Friday.
