Job description

Role Overview

As a People Generalist supporting the Sales Market, you will help drive the full people agenda by carrying out HR processes, assisting employees and managers, and making sure recruitment, onboarding, development, and engagement activities run smoothly.

In this position, you will rely on people data and insights to support decision-making, coordinate initiatives, and contribute to a fair, compliant, and supportive workplace.

This role is based at the Toronto Support Office and reports to the People Manager. It is a hybrid position.

What You Will Do

  • Carry out or assist with employee lifecycle processes in line with established group-wide procedures.
  • Help plan, coordinate, and deliver people initiatives and projects for the business units or functions you support.
  • Support employees and managers while implementing people processes, solutions, and initiatives across the business.
  • Respond to employee questions and concerns and provide support with basic employee relations matters, including union negotiation support where relevant.
  • Assist with activities that improve employee engagement, workplace satisfaction, and productivity.
  • Ensure recruitment is handled consistently and to a high standard, including communication, guidance, deadlines, and full administration of assessment centers.
  • Support onboarding activities and follow-up for Store Management teams.
  • Organize, facilitate, and follow up on training, including culture and values sessions.
  • Support performance management and development follow-up, including dialogs and contribution journeys.
  • Help manage succession planning and talent pipelines for Department Managers and Sales Advisors.
  • Analyze people data and metrics to support decision-making and provide insights for business units.
  • Prepare and track reports on headcount, turnover, training, hiring follow-up, and key HR indicators.
  • Monitor people KPI follow-up related to fair working environment outcomes.

Requirements

  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in HR operations or a generalist HR position.
  • Strong administrative and organizational ability, with careful attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of HR processes and employee lifecycle management.
  • The ability to review data and produce accurate HR reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a focus on inclusion and ongoing improvement.

Compensation

The annual salary for this position is CAD 97,200. The stated pay range has been assessed in good faith for this role and location at the time of posting, and may change in the future. Final compensation may be higher or lower depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
