Role Overview
As People & Culture Manager at Hyde Perth, you will be central to fostering a positive team environment. The role requires a practical, hands-on leader with excellent execution skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to build strong relationships with both leadership and staff. You will shape and nurture a culture that is dynamic, inclusive, and aligned with the Hyde brand’s energetic spirit. This position goes beyond traditional HR duties, focusing on cultivating a workplace where individuality flourishes, creativity thrives, and every employee is motivated to perform at their best.
Responsibilities
- Advocate for Hyde’s people-centered culture ensuring the brand’s values resonate throughout the entire property.
- Manage all aspects of the employee journey including hiring, onboarding, training, development, and career advancement.
- Design and embed Hyde’s distinctive culture and core values in all employee experiences and interactions.
- Develop and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team that captures the creative and spirited essence of Hyde.
- Offer strategic advice to leadership on workforce planning, labour management, and people operations.
- Collaborate with department managers to keep staff engaged, motivated, and aligned with the company's goals.
- Implement learning and development initiatives to encourage growth, innovation, and teamwork across departments.
- Oversee performance management with a focus on empathy, transparent feedback, and accountability.
- Ensure all operations comply with local labour laws and employment regulations.
- Manage wellbeing, recognition, and reward programs that genuinely support staff needs.
- Lead diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts including planning and promoting awareness activities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate to guarantee a safe, inclusive, and empowering workplace environment.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of advancing experience in human resources or people & culture, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership capacity, preferably in hospitality, lifestyle, or creative sectors.
- Practical leadership skills coupled with comprehensive knowledge of the Hospitality Industry General Award and Australian employment legislation.
- A genuine cultural leader who demonstrates empathy, values individuality, and fosters team connectivity.
- Passion for constructing strong teams, enabling professional growth, and driving organizational success through people management.
- Ability to devise creative solutions for people-related challenges and maintain integrity and optimism in all situations.
- Confidence and collaborative spirit with a willingness to constructively challenge existing norms.
- Curious and globally aware mindset, dedicated to community involvement and relationship building.
