Role Overview

We seek an engaging and compassionate People & Culture Executive to become a key part of our expanding Chennai team. This role is critical in fostering a vibrant organizational culture, enhancing employee involvement, and cultivating an environment where all staff feel appreciated and supported. The position requires collaboration across departments to roll out impactful people-focused programs aligned with our corporate mission and compliance with Indian labor laws and employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and oversee culture and employee engagement initiatives to nurture a constructive workplace and uphold core organizational values.
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes including job advertisements, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and facilitating onboarding procedures.
  • Handle employee relations matters like conflict mediation, performance management discussions, and disciplinary actions compassionately and transparently.
  • Administer HRIS and employee data systems ensuring accurate and secure record maintenance.
  • Evaluate HR statistics and employee feedback to detect trends, produce insights, and advise on strategic improvements.
  • Coordinate wellness, reward schemes, and career development programs aimed at motivating and retaining employees.
  • Ensure comprehensive adherence to Indian labor legislation, employment standards, and internal HR policies.
  • Prepare detailed HR reports and presentations for leadership and staff communication with professionalism and clarity.
  • Partner with department heads to understand staffing requirements and support workforce planning efforts.
  • Organize team-building exercises, training, and cultural events to encourage a spirit of collaboration and inclusiveness.
  • Maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive HR issues with utmost discretion.
  • Assist in administering performance management systems and provide guidance to supervisors on effective HR practices.
  • Contribute to developing and refining HR policies that embody the company’s values.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in HR functions, including operations, talent management, or recruitment.
  • Proven track record in fostering employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives.
  • Strong expertise in Indian labor laws, statutory compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Competence in using HR information systems, applicant tracking tools, and HR analytics platforms.
  • Ability to analyze HR data and translate it into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the capacity to engage effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with keen attention to detail.
  • Well-developed organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Experience managing recruitment cycles and talent acquisition duties.
  • Familiarity with performance management frameworks and employee relations methodologies.

  • Experience implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and managing cultural diversity.
  • Knowledge of employee wellness and mental health promotion programs.
  • Background in fast-growth environments or startups.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and employee relations strategies.
  • HR certification such as SHRM-CP or willingness to obtain it.
  • Project management skills or relevant certification.
  • Involvement with change management and organizational development projects.
  • Ability to foster strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience in creating and delivering training and development initiatives.
