Job description
About the Company
Enviro NZ helps New Zealanders move toward more sustainable living by delivering practical environmental solutions for communities and businesses nationwide. The organisation describes itself as grounded and approachable, with a collaborative culture and a strong focus on doing work well.
The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for an early-career HR professional who wants to grow in a broad, fast-moving People & Culture coordination role. You will act as the main contact for people and culture questions across the business, offering practical support and helping daily operations run smoothly.
The role supports the employee journey end to end, including recruitment, onboarding, changes to employment, system updates, and offboarding. A significant part of the position involves coordination and communication with managers, candidates, and employees, ensuring processes are clearly explained and completed accurately and on schedule.
You will also handle a wide range of people and culture administration tasks, with a focus on drafting employment agreements, carrying out compliance checks, maintaining systems, and assisting with ongoing P&C processes. This role suits someone who enjoys variety, stays busy, and takes pride in accuracy.
About You
The ideal person is self-driven, curious, and willing to ask questions to fully understand the task before moving ahead. You should be organised, practical, comfortable managing competing priorities, and willing to handle both larger and smaller tasks with the same level of care. A resilient, proactive attitude is important, and you should be confident reaching out when you need clarity. You will be supported by an experienced and friendly P&C team.
Requirements
You will likely bring a relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience in an HR or people and culture coordination/administration role, along with a sound understanding of New Zealand employment legislation. You should be confident using multiple systems, keeping records accurate, and building relationships quickly through strong communication skills. A positive, hands-on approach is essential, especially in a busy or high-pressure environment.
What’s On Offer
The role comes with an attractive salary that is reviewed annually. Benefits include a supportive team environment, a modern head office with free onsite parking and convenient access to public transport, complimentary gym membership, access to onsite tennis courts, employee wellbeing support including an EAP, and an inclusive workplace where people are encouraged to show up as their full selves. There will also be opportunities to gain broad exposure across the full people and culture function.
Application and Checks
Applicants are asked to submit a CV and a short cover letter explaining why the position is a strong match. The successful candidate will need to complete a pre-employment health assessment, including a drugs test, and a Ministry of Justice criminal records check, with outcomes requiring satisfaction from Enviro NZ. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens, residents, or hold an open work visa.
