Role Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of People & Culture, the People & Culture Coordinator supports the smooth operation of the HR office by handling administration, communication, and office coordination. The role is central to ensuring that current and new colleagues experience a welcoming, organized, and professional environment. Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and time management are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a workplace atmosphere that encourages colleagues to stay engaged and feel part of something meaningful.
- Represent and reinforce the values of respect, belonging, integrity, empowerment, and excellence.
- Handle colleague questions and concerns promptly, professionally, and with a service-focused approach.
- Help eligible team members navigate the hotel’s benefits offerings.
- Support internal communications, including hotel updates, training schedules, and social media-related communication.
- Manage day-to-day office administration and document flow while following brand and hotel policies and protecting confidentiality.
- Prioritize incoming phone calls and walk-in visitors, ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up.
- Assist with recruitment-related activities across the hiring process.
- Maintain accurate employee information across systems, including bi-weekly payroll, benefits administration, and monthly reports.
- Coordinate new hire documentation and onboarding administration.
- Support and help facilitate new employee orientation under the direction of the People & Culture Manager and Director.
- Contribute to a safe and clean work environment and take part in ongoing safety programs.
- Handle workers’ compensation claims and support short-term disability and long-term disability requests.
- Help strengthen employee morale, satisfaction, and team spirit.
- Assist with colleague events, hotel committees, town halls, DEI initiatives, recognition programs, celebrations, and the annual colleague holiday party.
- Provide additional support to the People & Culture office and hotel operations when needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally in a highly confidential setting and interact with visitors tactfully, warmly, and diplomatically.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Well organized, goal-oriented, adaptable, and able to remain effective under pressure.
- A university or college degree in Human Resources or a related discipline is an advantage.
- Strong computer proficiency, especially with MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, plus presentation skills.
- Familiarity with U.S. employment law is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, self-starting mindset.

Compensation
The pay range for this role is $28.00 to $31.00 per hour.
Physical Requirements
- The job involves frequent standing, walking, and sitting during the shift.
- The role may require lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 40 lbs.
