Job description
Company Overview
Teachers of Tomorrow, based in Houston, Texas, is a leading national provider of alternative certification programs for educators. The organization is continuing to expand and expects further growth in 2026, with a mission centered on quality instruction and strong support that helps teachers make a meaningful impact in students’ lives.
About the Role
This position is an entry-level opportunity for a highly organized and detail-focused People & Culture Coordinator. The role supports the People & Culture team across a wide range of HR activities, including onboarding, employee assistance, HR operations, and recruiting coordination.
You will help keep core HR processes running efficiently while contributing to a smooth, positive experience for both candidates and employees. This is a strong fit for someone aiming to start and develop a career in Human Resources through practical, hands-on exposure to several HR functions.
Key Responsibilities
As part of the HR operations and employee support function, you will manage employee records and HR files, update information in HR systems, respond professionally and promptly to employee and manager queries, and assist with documentation, compliance tracking, audits, policies, templates, and process materials.
In recruiting coordination, you will support job postings and requisition management in the applicant tracking system, arrange interviews, communicate with candidates, help review resumes and track applicants, and assist with offer letters, background checks, and pre-employment steps. You will also contribute to a smooth hiring experience from start to finish.
For onboarding and the employee lifecycle, you will coordinate new hire onboarding activities such as communication, paperwork, and system access, work with hiring managers and IT to prepare for day one, support offboarding tasks and system updates, and help organize orientation and new hire communications.
In engagement and team support, you will assist with employee engagement efforts, internal events, surveys, special People & Culture projects, and other initiatives that strengthen the organization’s HR presence.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related area preferred, along with 0 to 2 years of experience in HR, recruiting, or administrative support, including internships.
You should bring strong organization, attention to detail, the ability to balance several priorities at once, and the discipline to meet deadlines. Clear communication, a professional and responsive style, comfort using systems and administrative tools, and a positive, collaborative attitude are also important.
What to Expect
This is a fast-paced, detail-heavy role that depends on strong follow-through and the ability to manage several priorities every day. You will support both employees and candidates while helping the team stay organized and efficient.
If you enjoy structure, solving problems, and being the person who keeps things moving, this role may be a great match.
