The position suits someone who enjoys being a trusted advisor to leaders, combining commercial thinking with broad HR knowledge to influence decisions that improve business performance and the employee experience.
What you will do
- Act as a genuine partner to leaders by coaching, advising and challenging them to lead their teams effectively.
- Support change initiatives by helping employees and leaders adapt with clarity, insight and sound judgement.
- Lead or contribute to projects that improve people processes, systems and ways of working.
- Help leaders strengthen performance, culture, inclusion, wellbeing and engagement across teams.
- Work with the Talent team to support New Zealand talent strategies and growth initiatives.
- Handle employee relations matters and identify potential risks early, fairly and in line with legislation and company values.
- Contribute to business strategy through HR projects, continuous improvement and new people or culture initiatives as they arise.
What we are looking for
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Commerce or a related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience in HR or employee relations within complex environments.
- Strong working knowledge of New Zealand employment law and practical application experience.
- Confidence in managing employee relations cases with professionalism and discretion.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to balance people priorities with business needs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- High integrity, confidentiality and professionalism.
- A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
- Experience supporting leaders through organisational change and growth.
- The ability to combine strategic thinking with hands-on operational HR delivery.
- Experience contributing to HR initiatives, projects or continuous improvement work.
- Sound judgement, resilience and a collaborative, curious, solutions-focused mindset.
