Overview
Modern Family Law, a specialized boutique firm dedicated to Family Law, is seeking a compassionate and resourceful People and Culture Specialist focused on onboarding and offboarding. This remote role demands coordination and ownership of all employee entry and exit processes, ensuring a seamless, organized, and professional experience throughout the employment lifecycle at a growing multi-state firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end onboarding from job offer acceptance through the new hire's first 90 days.
- Function as the main contact for new employees, facilitating their orientation and acclimation process.
- Organize onboarding schedules, sessions, relevant documents, and initial day logistics across departments efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with Learning & Development, IT, Operations, Payroll, and leadership teams to guarantee timely readiness, including system access and equipment allocation for new hires.
- Supervise offboarding activities from notice period through final separation, covering documentation, access termination, and equipment retrieval.
- Implement and track exit and stay interviews, analyze trends, and support initiatives for continuous onboarding and offboarding improvement.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, workflows, tracking tools, and documentation for onboarding/offboarding to enhance consistency and scalability.
- Keep detailed records and dashboards to monitor progress and visibility of onboarding/offboarding efforts.
- Spot process deficiencies and propose actionable improvements to increase operational efficiency and consistency.
- Support coordination and documentation of internal employee transitions, organizational updates, and broader People & Culture projects.
- Assist in creating and updating training materials, resources, and procedural documents related to onboarding.
- Work with People & Culture leaders and cross-functional teams to standardize and strengthen onboarding, offboarding, and employee transition protocols.
- Use sound judgment to manage routine operational matters and engage leadership for policy interpretation or sensitive employee relations issues.
- Handle confidential employee data with professionalism and discretion.
- Perform other duties as assigned by People & Culture leadership to meet organizational objectives.
Candidate Requirements
- Must have a reliable home workspace with consistent internet connectivity suitable for productive remote work during business hours.
- Minimum educational qualification of high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 4 years’ experience in onboarding, offboarding, employee experience, HR coordination, or related People Operations roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, Humanities, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience coordinating onboarding and offboarding with multiple stakeholders.
- Legal, professional services, or rapidly expanding multi-state organizational experience is advantageous.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe, Zoom, and experienced with HRIS platforms and electronic personnel record systems.
- Exceptional detail orientation, organizational skills, and commitment to follow-through.
- Capable of juggling multiple deadlines and stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Salary Range: Estimated between $31.25 and $38.46 per hour (varies by location, experience, and job factors).
