Job description

Role overview

HSO is looking for an early-career HR professional who enjoys working with people, staying organised, and contributing to a positive employee experience. This role offers the chance to build a strong foundation in Human Resources while supporting a global technology business and collaborating with a friendly People and Culture team.

About HSO

HSO is a global Microsoft partner that delivers innovative services and solutions based on Microsoft Dynamics 365. The business supports ambitious organisations in improving how they use technology, and it places a strong value on its people as well as its clients.

The opportunity

In this position, you will help shape the employee experience by coordinating people processes across HSO's regional offices in New Zealand and Australia. Your work will range from supporting new starters and strengthening health and safety practices to helping promote a connected, positive culture. The role offers broad exposure across the employee lifecycle and is a strong starting point for someone aiming to grow into a generalist HR career.

Key responsibilities

  • Support recruitment activities such as preparing job advertisements, running campaigns, arranging candidate testing, assisting with sourcing and shortlisting, organising interviews, and helping with employment agreements and pre-employment paperwork.
  • Coordinate onboarding with hiring managers, including preparing onboarding plans, arranging equipment and travel for remote starters, and ensuring new employees experience a smooth and welcoming first few days.
  • Serve as a Health and Safety Representative, helping with inductions, workplace inspections, incident reporting, and wellbeing activities while contributing to a safe and positive culture across ANZ.
  • Maintain HR systems and administration processes, including HRIS and applicant tracking tools, while keeping employee records accurate and confidential.
  • Assist with engagement activities, surveys, staff benefits, social events such as Friday Fun-times, and other initiatives that help teams stay connected across both countries.

What you should bring

  • A degree or postgraduate diploma in Human Resources.
  • Some practical exposure to recruitment, HR administration, talent acquisition, or general HR support; experience related to health, safety, or wellbeing would be an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with confidence in professional interactions at all levels.
  • Excellent accuracy and strong planning and prioritisation skills.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach and a sincere interest in people, wellbeing, and workplace safety.
  • Good relationship-building ability across multiple locations, plus a positive and engaging attitude that aligns with the company's values.
  • Knowledge of the IT sector would be helpful, but it is not required.

Why this role stands out

You will work in a flexible hybrid arrangement that fits around your life, with access to an Employee Assistance Programme for you and your whānau, reward and recognition initiatives, employee referral programmes, health insurance, and the opportunity to grow your HR career within a supportive, values-led team. You will also be part of a global organisation while enjoying the close-knit feel of the ANZ community.

Application note

Applicants should submit a CV and a brief cover letter explaining their interest in the role.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
