Candidate profile
The journal is looking for a professional with a doctoral degree or an equivalent advanced qualification in the relevant subject. Applicants should have strong subject knowledge, solid research experience, and a track record of scholarly publication.
- Doctorate (PhD) or an equivalent advanced degree in the relevant discipline
- At least 5 SCI/SSCI journal papers published within the last three years
- Strong grasp of research methods and ethical standards in the field
- Sharp analytical judgment and critical evaluation ability
- Excellent writing skills for clear, concise, and constructive review comments
- Good time management and the ability to meet deadlines reliably
- High standards of confidentiality and objectivity
- Previous journal peer-review experience is strongly preferred
- Comfort using online manuscript submission and review platforms
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will review submitted manuscripts for scientific quality, originality, and suitability for publication.
- Check whether the paper offers fresh ideas, new findings, or meaningful contributions to the discipline
- Review the research design and methodology to see whether they are appropriate, complete, and explained well enough to support replication
- Assess whether the literature review is current, relevant, and properly connected to existing work
- Examine the presentation of results and conclusions to confirm they are clear and supported by the data
- Provide practical, constructive comments that point out weaknesses, missing elements, or ethical issues
- Submit a recommendation to the editor regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript
