Job description
About the company
IONOS is a leading European partner for cloud infrastructure, cloud services, and hosting. The company works across teams in an open, informal culture with flat hierarchies, strong team spirit, and a focus on building a secure long-term future in a growing business.
The role sits at the heart of the HR function and combines hands-on payroll operations with the ongoing modernization of HR processes. You will help ensure that monthly payroll runs are both timely and completely accurate.
Role overview
In this position, you will take ownership of core payroll processes while acting as a reliable point of contact for employees and managers. You will also contribute to digital improvements and support broader HR projects in close collaboration with finance and other related teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and run the monthly payroll cycle, including time tracking and employment-related certificates and documentation.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with tax payroll and social security regulations, and support internal and external audits such as wage tax, social insurance, and year-end closing reviews.
- Serve as the main contact for employees and managers regarding payroll and time management questions.
- Drive the optimization and digitization of payroll workflows rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
- Contribute to HR projects and work closely with adjacent departments, especially Finance.
Requirements
- Completed commercial vocational training or a degree with a focus on human resources or finance.
- 3 to 5 years of solid payroll experience, with strong knowledge of current wage tax and social security regulations.
- Confident use of modern payroll systems, ideally SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central or SAP HCM; experience with time management systems is an advantage.
- Structured, service-oriented working style with a strong quality focus and absolute discretion.
- Interest in digital solutions and motivation to improve processes efficiently.
- Fluent German communication skills, both spoken and written.
Working model and culture
IONOS promotes partnership across teams, open communication, and a culture where work and enjoyment go hand in hand. The company offers room to grow and welcomes new team members as it continues to expand.
Benefits
- Hybrid working model.
- Flexible hours through trust-based working time.
- At some locations, subsidized canteen meals and free drinks.
- Modern office space with excellent transport connections.
- Employee discounts on activities and products.
- Team events such as summer and winter celebrations, plus workshops.
- Broad learning and development opportunities.
- Health offerings such as sports and wellness courses.
About the employer
IONOS serves more than six million customers and operates a globally available platform across 18 markets in Europe and North America. Its web presence and productivity portfolio covers domains, web hosting, website builders, DIY solutions, e-commerce, and online marketing tools. The company also provides cloud solutions for businesses moving their operations into the cloud.
Equal opportunity
IONOS welcomes applications from everyone, regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation, identity, physical characteristics, marital status, or any other legally irrelevant factor.
