Job description

About IONOS

IONOS is a leading European provider of cloud infrastructure, cloud services, and hosting solutions. The company works closely across teams in an open environment with informal communication, flat structures, and a strong team culture. It offers a stable perspective in a future-oriented industry and is continuously looking for new colleagues to support its growth.

Role overview

In this position, you ensure that payroll figures are accurate and processed on time each month. The role goes beyond administration and sits at the core of the HR function. You will combine hands-on payroll execution with efforts to modernize and improve HR processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle the preparation and execution of monthly payroll, including time tracking and the issuance of employment-related certificates.
  • Make sure all payroll activities comply with current wage tax and social security regulations, and support internal and external audits such as wage tax, social insurance, and annual closing reviews.
  • Serve as the main contact for employees and managers on questions related to payroll and working time management.
  • Actively contribute to improving and digitizing payroll workflows instead of only maintaining existing processes.
  • Participate in HR projects and coordinate closely with related departments such as Finance.

Requirements

  • Completed commercial training or a university degree with a focus on HR or Finance.
  • 3 to 5 years of solid experience in payroll administration and strong knowledge of current wage tax and social security law.
  • Confident handling of modern payroll systems, ideally SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central or SAP HCM; experience with time management systems is an advantage.
  • Structured, service-oriented working style with a strong focus on quality and a high level of discretion.
  • Interest in digital solutions and a motivation to make processes more efficient.
  • Business-fluent German skills, spoken and written.

Benefits

  • Hybrid work setup.
  • Flexible working hours based on trust-based working time.
  • At some locations, subsidized cafeteria meals and complimentary drinks.
  • Modern office spaces with excellent transport connections.
  • Employee discounts for activities and products.
  • Team events such as summer and winter celebrations, plus workshops.
  • Extensive training and development opportunities.
  • Health-related benefits, including sports and wellness courses.
