Role Overview

KBR is inviting expressions of interest for Payroll Officers based in Melbourne to join their Shared Services team and help meet future workforce requirements. This role involves processing payroll accurately and efficiently for Australian employees and collaborating with onshore and offshore finance teams. There is a focus on continuous process improvement and assisting with new payroll system implementations. The role offers a supportive team environment with diverse daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute end-to-end payroll processing for both fortnightly and monthly payment cycles.
  • Handle pre-payroll administrative duties, including calculations and processing of terminations, redundancies, back payments, and superannuation submissions.
  • Ensure compliance to payroll policies and accuracy to prevent errors or duplication.
  • Provide precise and timely payroll-related information to employees and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in managing and coordinating employee benefits programs.
  • Monitor and communicate legislative changes impacting payroll functions.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with departments such as People & Culture, Finance, Tax, and third-party vendors.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Two to three years of comprehensive payroll experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • A positive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail along with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency using payroll and finance software including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, and Workday.

Additional Information

Candidates must be based in Melbourne and eligible to hold an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance to be considered. Various employment types are welcomed, including permanent, fixed-term, and casual positions.
