What the role involves

  • Running payroll accurately and within required deadlines
  • Keeping employee information current across the full employment journey
  • Managing leave entitlements, allowances, pay changes, and other payroll transactions
  • Responding promptly to payroll questions and providing clear guidance
  • Applying employment rules, awards, and workplace agreements correctly to ensure accurate pay outcomes
  • Performing payroll reconciliations and supporting reporting tasks
  • Making sure all payroll activity follows legislation and internal policy
  • Looking for ways to improve payroll systems and make processes more efficient

What you need

  • Proven background in payroll or payroll administration
  • Working knowledge of payroll law, modern awards, and compliance requirements
  • Strong accuracy and careful attention to detail
  • Confident use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines in a busy setting
  • Professional communication skills and a strong approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving ability, with the confidence to work independently
