What the role involves
- Running payroll accurately and within required deadlines
- Keeping employee information current across the full employment journey
- Managing leave entitlements, allowances, pay changes, and other payroll transactions
- Responding promptly to payroll questions and providing clear guidance
- Applying employment rules, awards, and workplace agreements correctly to ensure accurate pay outcomes
- Performing payroll reconciliations and supporting reporting tasks
- Making sure all payroll activity follows legislation and internal policy
- Looking for ways to improve payroll systems and make processes more efficient
What you need
- Proven background in payroll or payroll administration
- Working knowledge of payroll law, modern awards, and compliance requirements
- Strong accuracy and careful attention to detail
- Confident use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with the ability to pick up new systems quickly
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines in a busy setting
- Professional communication skills and a strong approach to dealing with internal and external stakeholders
- Solid analytical and problem-solving ability, with the confidence to work independently
