About the Role
Crothall Healthcare is looking to fill a full-time Patient Transporter position right away at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. This role focuses on moving patients and related items safely and efficiently within the hospital.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time role. Workdays and hours can change, and the exact schedule will be shared during the interview.
Compensation
The role offers a fixed wage of $13.50 per hour.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for transporting patients, medical equipment, and patient-related belongings to the correct locations while keeping safety, timing, and accuracy in mind.
- Move patients carefully and secure IVs, drainage tubes, and other medical attachments as needed.
- Use wheelchairs and other approved transport equipment to complete patient moves.
- Handle transport needs across different age groups with appropriate skill.
- Deliver patients to the right destination on time and with the correct equipment.
- Stay in close communication with nurses, clinicians, technicians, reception staff, and dispatch.
- Pay attention to patient comfort by offering blankets, protecting modesty, and keeping conversations appropriate.
- Do not transport patients who are in severe pain.
- Notify nursing staff immediately if a patient shows distress or if equipment is not working properly.
- Keep transport equipment in good condition and report anything that needs repair.
- Follow all applicable federal, state, and JCAHO standards.
- Protect patient privacy and follow facility confidentiality and patient-rights rules, including HIPAA procedures.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Required Background
Previous customer service experience is required.
