Role Overview

The Patient Support Specialist (Onboarding) is integral in ensuring patients are properly introduced and trained on remote monitoring programs. This role facilitates patient understanding and effective use of medical devices, supporting adherence and improved health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onboarding calls via telephone or video to explain RPM and device benefits.
  • Assist patients with device setup and connectivity to required platforms.
  • Educate patients about vital sign monitoring and how to interpret their readings.
  • Troubleshoot device issues, escalating complex problems as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions and onboarding status in the Electronic Health Record system.
  • Conduct follow-up calls to encourage ongoing patient adherence to monitoring protocols.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and adhere to organizational values and compliance standards.
  • Fulfill additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Strong dedication to enhancing patient care with empathy and patience.
  • Clear ability to convey technical information to patients.
  • Experience in contact center operations is a plus.
  • Sales skills beneficial for communicating program advantages.
  • Capable of managing a high volume of approximately 100 calls daily while maintaining professionalism.
  • Excellent communication, listening, organizational, and documentation abilities.
  • Problem-solving aptitude with capability to address device issues.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently in a remote setting.
  • Proficient computer skills; familiarity with EHR systems preferred.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in healthcare, telehealth, or remote patient monitoring.
  • Knowledge of medical devices such as blood pressure and heart rate monitors.
  • Experience in providing remote technical or customer support.
