Job Summary
The role of Patient Scheduler involves organizing and coordinating the visits of clinical staff, which includes Option Care Nursing, subcontracted nursing, and network nursing, to patients. The scheduler maintains close collaboration with pharmacy, nursing, and warehouse teams to align staffing availability with patient care necessities. Additional responsibilities are assigned by senior nursing and operational management.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrange adequate staffing coverage for all patient care requirements.
- Oversee, coordinate, and monitor patient care scheduling throughout clinical departments.
- Communicate with patients and clinical staff to schedule and confirm appointments and delivery times.
- Interpret physician orders accurately to align scheduling appropriately.
- Utilize required software platforms to finalize tasks and generate reports.
- Balance scheduling demands with available staffing resources.
- Keep management informed about staffing needs and challenges.
- Process patient complaints or issues by directing them to the correct department.
- Perform clerical duties when scheduling staff is not available.
- Uphold confidentiality and legal standards concerning patient and company information.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of one year experience in scheduling roles.
- At least one year working in general office administration or a comparable fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Effective verbal and written communication across various audiences including colleagues, management, and customers.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word (2003 or later) for document creation and formatting tasks.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (2003 or later) including working with spreadsheets and formulas.
- Experience in delivering quality customer service to both internal and external customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in home healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with electronic scheduling platforms.
- Two years or more experience in office administration or similarly fast-paced settings.

Compensation:
Salary range from $19.57 to $32.63 per hour, dependent on candidate's education, experience, skills, and alignment with market and internal inequities.
