Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and communicate expectations related to protocol-specified patient visits and procedures.
- Manage a high volume of calls while seated at a workstation for extended periods.
- Creatively and diligently recruit qualified participants to meet enrollment goals within sponsor timelines, ensuring compliance with medical ethics and regulatory guidelines including IRB, GCP, and ICH.
- Screen, call, and follow up with potential study participants promptly.
- Collaborate within the recruitment team to meet departmental targets under the Recruitment Manager.
- Lead assigned studies by participating in planning and training meetings and manage campaign portals and reporting.
- Conduct phone screenings based on study protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria.
- Accurately document medical history and demographic data of volunteers in a database.
- Timely follow-up on no-shows and update records in CTMS with detailed comments.
- Make reminder calls for scheduled pre-screens and screens.
- Stay informed about upcoming studies and contribute ideas for improving pre-screening activities.
- Participate in recruitment events such as walk-in screenings, open houses, health expos as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of study protocols and protected health information (PHI).
- Attend all required meetings and training to stay current on federal regulations, protocols, and company policies.
- Perform duties efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Flourish Research policies.
- Represent the organization professionally in verbal, written, and visual communication with internal staff, sponsors, CROs, IRBs, medical personnel, and participants.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Work primarily occurs within a typical clinical or office indoor environment.
- Local travel may be necessary.
- Extended periods of sitting required.
- Ability to work productively in a call center setting despite occasional noise and distractions.
- Extensive computer use expected.
- Capability to lift 35 pounds and occasionally heavier loads.
- Occasional evening and weekend shifts may be required.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable daily access to a vehicle.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- At least 3 years of experience in clinical or biological research settings.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong alignment with core organizational values and essential skills.
- Experience in patient recruitment preferred, with understanding of IRB, FDA, GCP, and HIPAA guidelines advantageous.
- Proficient in handling outbound and inbound calls.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, self-driven, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
- Professional demeanor and a committed work ethic.
- Outstanding customer service skills and telephone etiquette.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Contributes to process improvements and department initiatives.
- Adaptable and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Consistently meets or exceeds at least 80% of the set annual goals.
