The Goddard Riverside Community Center and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center are prominent community-based organizations in Manhattan, providing services to roughly 30,000 New Yorkers. These agencies support children, youth, families, homeless individuals, and older adults throughout Manhattan and New York City, advocating for social justice and equitable opportunities for all residents to improve their lives.
Program Details
Goddard Riverside serves over 20,000 people city-wide with diverse programs for all ages, operating under a social justice framework to promote fairness and enable individuals to make positive life choices. As part of the Manhattan Outreach Consortium (MOC), they focus on assisting the unsheltered population in Manhattan through partnerships with various community and healthcare organizations. The Uptown team covers areas from West 59th to West 110th Street and East 59th to East 96th Street, while the Downtown team serves below 23rd Street, both spanning river to river.
Role Purpose
The Outreach Worker role focuses on engaging street-living individuals through community outreach using harm reduction strategies. Responsibilities include responding to 311 community calls, assisting with housing placement, and meeting clients where they are using motivational interviewing techniques. Collaboration with MOC teams is essential.
Work Schedule
- Saturday-Sunday 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Saturday-Sunday 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Saturday-Sunday 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Compensation and Qualifications
The hourly pay ranges from $20.64 to $22.97 and the final salary offer depends on the applicant's relevant experience and additional qualifications.
