Job description
About the Role
Join Jovie's dynamic team as a part-time nanny providing care to multiple families in the Cupertino area. This role offers a flexible schedule ideal for individuals experienced in babysitting, daycare, or similar childcare roles, including retired educators who prefer a smaller, personal childcare environment rather than a traditional classroom setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe and nurturing care for children at their homes without the need to transport them
- Perform minimal household tasks limited to tidying up after activities or meals with the child
- Support families with children ranging from infants to toddlers, with the greatest demand for those under 2 years
- Engage children thoughtfully by leading hands-on, age-appropriate activities tailored to their developmental needs
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage between $23 and $26.50
- Paid training with a provided nanny kit containing age-suitable activities and games
- Possibility for career advancement in childcare and potential placement as a full or part-time consistent nanny
- Paid sick leave available for all schedules
- For full-time work: medical stipends, paid holidays and vacation, student loan repayment match, and retirement savings match
- Additional perks include mileage reimbursement, performance bonuses, as well as social events and contests to foster community
- Employment is official via W-2 form including unemployment insurance and resume building opportunities
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Prior experience with childcare, either paid or voluntary, with mandatory experience caring for infants
- Access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel to multiple clients' homes within the area
- Availability to work at least three weekdays with shifts lasting 6–8 hours scheduled between 7 AM and 7 PM
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and a positive, friendly demeanor toward families and supervisors
