About the Employer and Workplace
The Sport & Youth Hostel Rheine accommodates 160 guests and welcomes approximately 15,000 visitors annually, including families, school classes, sports groups, and participants of leisure camps. The facility, featuring a large outdoor area, is located directly adjacent to the city park and has recently reopened in April 2024 following renovations.
Role Description and Key Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation, ensuring compliance with economic efficiency and maintaining quality standards.
- Perform preparatory tasks such as cutting, plating, and portioning.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area and equipment as well as the dining area, always adhering to hygiene and quality guidelines.
- Properly store inventory and conduct regular quality checks on supplies.
- Support daily kitchen operations effectively.
- Set up buffet and manage food service distribution.
Desired Qualifications and Attributes
- Passion for cooking and working within a kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork, dependability, and commitment to hygiene standards.
- Previous experience in gastronomy is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Willingness to engage with a diverse range of guest groups, enjoy varied daily tasks.
- Ability to handle workload, responsible and trustworthy character traits.
