Role overview
An established chartered accountancy practice in County Meath is seeking an experienced Part Qualified Accountant to join its account services team. The firm is a three-partner practice with more than 30 years of experience supporting a wide client base across audit, non-audit, sole trader work, and multiple industry sectors.
What you will do
- Prepare year-end company accounts for non-audit clients, including working papers up to review level.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations covering VAT, payroll, leases, hire purchase arrangements, and fixed assets.
- Post journals accurately into accounting software and work confidently with core accounting principles.
- Support the preparation of management accounts.
- Draft statutory financial statements while meeting agreed deadlines and following internal checklists, procedures, and process controls.
- Contribute to year-end close activities and journal entries.
- Complete corporation tax returns.
- Communicate with clients by phone and in writing in a professional and confident manner.
- Support the manager with ad hoc client assignments and specialist work.
Required experience and qualifications
- Part-qualified ACA or ACCA accountant.
- At least 2 years of experience in general accounting practice.
- Strong financial understanding and the confidence to work in a practical, hands-on role.
- Excellent client service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and organisational ability.
- Very good written and spoken English.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with CCH Accounts Production.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Working knowledge of Surf, Xero, and Sage Line 50, which are commonly used by clients.
- Competence with Microsoft Office tools.
Compensation and benefits
- Annual salary of €30,000 to €38,000.
- 10% bonus.
