Job Overview
This position involves hands-on maintenance and care of various plant life, including flowers, shrubs, and trees within landscaped park areas. Essential tasks include planting, watering, mulching, pruning, and fertilizing to ensure healthy vegetation and attractive public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant and nurture flowers, shrubs, and trees through regular watering, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing.
- Monitor plant conditions closely, identify any pest infestations or diseases, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Remove dead flowers (deadheading) and maintain tidy, well-kept plant beds and garden layouts.
- Clear debris and litter from plant beds and surrounding grounds to keep the environment clean and safe.
Experience & Qualifications
- Preference given to candidates having at least two years’ experience in landscaping or horticulture, though not mandatory.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred as educational background.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid Michigan Driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with team members are required.
- Able to comprehend and follow spoken directions accurately.
- Possessing a pesticide applicator license and a commercial driver’s license (CDL) is advantageous but not essential.
Work Schedule
Position starts as soon as possible. Working days are Monday through Friday, with hours typically from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, varying based on seasonal needs.
