Parking Compliance Monitor

Role overview

The University of Georgia is hiring a Parking Compliance Monitor to help enforce parking rules and operating procedures across campus lots and parking structures in Athens, GA.

Schedule and pay

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position. The standard shift is Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with weekend work required for special events when needed. The hourly wage is $16.587, effective 7/1/25.

Key duties

• Issue parking citations and carry out towing or booting actions when violations occur.
• Prepare daily activity reports.
• Answer questions from faculty, staff, employees, students, and visitors about parking complaints, concerns, directions, campus policies, and other related matters.
• Manage traffic flow around parking structures to keep entry and exit areas safe and organized.
• Reserve and support parking arrangements for special events, VIP guests, football games, and other athletic events.
• Step in to assist coworkers during special events, absences, or other staffing needs to keep operations running smoothly.
• Help with periodic cleaning of surface lots and related vehicles/equipment, especially during slower periods.
• Patrol parking areas for unauthorized vehicles, litter, suspicious activity, and illegal behavior, supporting overall site security.

Requirements and qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. The role calls for strong customer service and organizational ability. Candidates should be comfortable working outdoors in difficult weather and interacting calmly with upset or frustrated customers. Driving may be required to complete job duties, and applicants must have a valid driver’s license. Additional conditions

This is a benefits-eligible employee position. It is classified as Service/Maintenance Worker and is non-exempt, with an FTE of 1.00. The position is not designated as a position of trust and does not involve control of financial resources, a P-Card, direct interaction or care of minors, direct patient care, or security access to restricted records, systems, chemicals, or medications. A background investigation is required, including a criminal background check, verification of credentials and work history, reference checks, and, where applicable, a credit check. A pre-employment drug test may also be required for positions with high-risk responsibilities. A credit check is required for positions with financial responsibilities.
