Job description
Position Overview
Greenland Group seeks a skilled Outfitting/Ship Fitter for their project at Zamil Shipyard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role involves precise fitting of metal components aligned strictly to specifications and measurements.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural metal parts including plates, bulkheads, frames, handrails, bulwarks, manholes, ceilings, and braces within the ship's hull, preparing them for riveting or welding.
- Utilize blueprints or templates with scribing and hand tools to mark and position parts on metal surfaces.
- Identify and mark reference lines like center, buttock, and frame lines; position parts in the hull assisted by riggers.
- Align parts accurately with jacks, turnbuckles, clips, wedges, and mauls.
- Mark drilling locations and install temporary fasteners to secure parts for welding or riveting.
- Install packing materials, gaskets, liners, and structural items such as doors, hatches, brackets, and clips.
- Prepare molds and templates for fabricating custom or nonstandard components.
- Operate machinery including plate rollers, presses, bending brakes, and joggle machines to roll, bend, flange, cut, and shape metal parts.
- Install, repair, and fabricate thin sheets and small assemblies following work orders, drawings, and supervisor instructions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on outfitting machinery, tools, and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Practice safe working procedures by fully adhering to health and safety regulations related to tasks and tools.
- Maintain proficiency in use of all required tools and equipment.
Job Context and Communication
- The role requires sound knowledge to maintain safety and quality standards when performing work.
- Experience in oil and gas industry environments is essential.
- Reporting directly to the Ship Fitter Foreman or Supervisor.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- Diploma qualification mandatory.
- At least 2 to 5 years of relevant experience, specifically in ship fitting or ship fabrication.
- Only candidates with shipyard or dockyard experience will be considered eligible.
- Proficiency in English for communication, reading, and writing.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team under pressure.
- Competence in understanding engineering drawings and operating related machinery.
- Manual dexterity and physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and design skills.
- Analytical thinking, creativity, and a strong results-oriented approach.

Salary
The monthly compensation ranges from Tk. 59,000 to Tk. 72,000.
