Job Overview
This role involves independent operation within established procedures, focusing on preparing complex and specialized reports in the field. The specialist supports achieving operational goals by monitoring expenses against budgets and recommending corrective actions. Additionally, responsibilities include updating digital records and maintaining documentation according to standards.
Operational Planning and Coordination
- Formulate security operation plans for ports aligned with organizational strategic objectives, identify gaps and best practices in cooperation with port managers and the Security Planning and Monitoring team.
- Liaise with law enforcement agencies to reduce operational violations at ports and improve overall efficiency.
- Collaborate with relevant internal departments to ensure lawful processes for handling destruction and seizure of prohibited, smuggled, or unauthorized items.
Monitoring and Follow-up
- Oversee implementation of ongoing projects at ports, manage project documentation, and apply appropriate archiving practices for easy retrieval.
- Conduct regular audits and quality checks to identify operational weaknesses and inform updates to policies and procedures via Security Planning and Monitoring.
- Ensure corrective actions from KPI reports and audits are executed in partnership with port managers.
- Report incidents that could affect operational quality to maintain high standards.
- Prepare periodic security operation reports detailing progress, key outcomes, challenges, and share with relevant stakeholders.
Organizational Duties
- Adhere to all applicable policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to maintain consistent, controlled workflows.
- Assist in resolving escalated issues and provide support to junior team members for efficient task completion.
- Escalate complex problems appropriately to guarantee proper resolution.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned.
Staff Development and Supervision
- Train junior personnel when relevant to ensure knowledge transfer.
- Set clear priorities, delegate tasks, monitor subordinate workflow, and provide guidance.
- Support junior staff in fulfilling responsibilities following policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related area.
- Minimum of three years’ relevant work experience.
Key Competencies
- Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
- Proficient in compliance verification.
- Developing skills in resource management (including K9 controls and surveillance).
- Growing abilities in communication, professionalism, results orientation, customer focus, non-intrusive container inspections, and change enablement.
