About the Role
A major financial services institution with a broad North American footprint is hiring an Operations Officer II through a recruitment partner to fill an existing opening. The organization spans several core business lines, including institutional and corporate banking, wealth management, private client services, commercial banking, treasury, and retail banking.
Contract Details
This is a 12-month contract assignment with the possibility of extension or conversion.
Pay: CAD 26 per hour
Location: Mississauga, Ontario
Work arrangement: Hybrid
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Role Overview
In this position, you will provide operational and transactional support within Operations & Technology, helping ensure that service standards, business goals, and client experience targets are consistently achieved. You will work within a team structure and report to a Team Manager.
Key Duties
- Deliver a wide variety of operational support and handle general to specialized processing tasks in the assigned functional area.
- Maintain effective partner relationships and help keep operations running smoothly so business objectives, service level targets, and CEI goals are met.
- Strengthen the customer experience and loyalty through every interaction.
- Address customer issues appropriately by following the established internal and external resolution process and escalating when needed.
- Help create outstanding service experiences through existing service programs.
- Complete all required processing and inquiry work within service level expectations.
- Act as a knowledgeable contact point for internal and external partners in the assigned area.
- Perform assigned tasks accurately and within set standards.
- Take part in daily check-ins and workload distribution activities.
- Support audit readiness by following audit and process guidelines carefully.
- Identify risks and escalate concerns when appropriate.
- Follow bank codes of conduct and operating requirements.
- Contribute ideas and participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Apply service centre and bank policies and procedures correctly.
- Adapt effectively to changing business needs and team priorities.
- Adopt new processes and technology enhancements as they are introduced.
- Use proper due diligence to ensure transaction accuracy.
Experience and Qualifications
Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree and bring 2 to 4 years of banking or financial services experience. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel, is required. Prior data entry experience, a record of meeting SLAs, strong communication skills, and the ability to learn new systems quickly are also important.
Additional Strengths
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, adaptable, comfortable handling complexity, and able to work under strict deadlines and high-volume workloads. Strong quantitative, analytical, organizational, and time management abilities are expected, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Self-motivation, goal focus, flexibility with changing policies and procedures, and familiarity with MM and FX products such as options, foreign exchange spots and forwards, and money market deposits and loans will be beneficial. Experience with Global and WSS platforms is considered an asset.
