Job description
Role Overview
This position is for an Operations Manager who can think customer-first, take ownership, and contribute to a high-performing operations team. The role focuses on coordinating information across multiple stakeholders to quickly resolve issues that could affect customer experience or business continuity.
The ideal candidate should understand the logistics domain at a basic level, communicate effectively in both written and spoken form, and actively identify process improvements while driving them through to completion.
What You'll Do
- Run a shift and continuously look for opportunities to strengthen team performance while managing related change initiatives.
- Use performance measures to improve team output and support business goals.
- Analyze trends, understand their business implications, and make decisions based on data.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders such as carriers and vendors/suppliers, as well as internal teams including finance, ops excellence, and fulfillment centers.
- Raise issues or data mismatches with the right owners and ensure they are resolved end to end.
- Extract and analyze data from multiple databases using tools such as Excel, Access, SQL, or other data systems for ad hoc reporting, where needed.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in managing employees and performance.
- A bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification, or 2+ years of blue badge/FTE experience with Amazon.
- Availability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean methods.
