Operations Manager - Finance and Operations, Equity Trading

About the Role

This position is situated within the Finance and Operations department, specifically focusing on equity trading, based in Abu Dhabi on Al Reem Island. The Operations Manager will act as the principal support to the Head of Finance and Operations, overseeing back-office activities that ensure front-office transactions adhere strictly to company policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include monitoring fund movements between accounts as instructed by Customer Service and Brokers, with a primary focus on settlement functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and safeguard the integrity of all financial operations by managing account transactions, producing reconciliation reports, and supervising revenue accounting and collections monitoring.
• Supervise back-office trade transactions including gathering client requirements, coordinating with brokers, verifying client accounts, and generating comprehensive daily transaction reports to support trading activities.
• Oversee all documentation from Customer Care Officers and Brokers, ensuring robust controls to prevent insider trading practices.
• Analyze management information reports summarizing daily transactions, calculate commissions for invoicing, and prepare periodic financial plans and client reviews for senior management.
• Assist in developing and maintaining effective management information systems (MIS) and performance management frameworks to enhance organizational business monitoring.
• Provide technical research and support pertaining to listed securities, managed funds, market conditions, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage settlement operations by preparing payment schedules for dues, calculating daily broker net positions, coordinating with management, and handling broker communications concerning trading limits and deviations.
• Maintain effective liaison with all internal teams including Customer Care, Brokerage, and Branch Offices to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a professional accounting certification such as ACCA or CPA.
• Minimum eight years of experience in finance, administration, and back-office transactions within the equity trading or related industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial and stock market trading operations.
• Strong understanding of back-office procedural requirements specific to the finance and trading sector.
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
• Advanced analytical, judgment, and interpretative capabilities.
• Proficient IT skills at a high level.
