Job description
Role Overview
Join TAFE Queensland as an Operations Manager leading the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) on the Gold Coast campus. This position drives operational excellence by managing resource allocation, timetabling, financial viability, and compliance with educational outcomes. Collaborating closely with educators and support staff, you will ensure operational alignment with curriculum and training schedules, manage teaching personnel, prepare curriculum material, and support student success. Additionally, you will be accountable for meeting contractual revenue targets and key performance indicators, using data analytics to monitor and enhance performance continuously.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain quality relationships with essential stakeholders in the education sector.
- Facilitate staff development initiatives including induction and mentorship for new employees.
- Implement innovative business strategies to coordinate educator scheduling, ensuring programs are properly resourced, financially sustainable, and meet qualification standards.
- Collaborate and negotiate with internal service teams to satisfy business objectives.
- Oversee the attainment of contractual revenue-related KPIs for the faculty.
- Analyze performance data to identify necessary corrective measures and ensure program targets are achieved.
- Lead human resource activities such as teacher performance planning, leave administration, professional development, and maintaining industry relevance.
- Support the Faculty Director in administration including budgeting, planning, and managing tender/sales opportunities.
- Manage educational compliance elements including award eligibility, course packaging, graduation processes, and program registration.
- Understand and navigate the financial and commercial aspects of TAFE, adapting to external influences as needed.
- Champion cultural transformation within the faculty by embodying core values: initiative, collaboration, customer focus, and accountability.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to contribute towards strategic plan development and KPI setting.
- Proven skill in assessing client needs, setting goals, and managing resources efficiently to produce high-quality outcomes within deadlines.
- Experience leading, motivating, and supporting teams in dynamic environments, focusing on best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication capabilities, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Adaptability and proactive mindset to excel in a fast-changing and challenging workplace.
Desirable Credentials
- Undergraduate degree in Education.
- Postgraduate qualification in TESOL.
- Experience with AMEP and familiarity with the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification.

This full-time, fixed-term role is based at the Southport Campus with potential travel to other TAFE Queensland Gold Coast sites. The contract runs until 25 June 2027, with possible extension.
