Position summary
This role is focused on keeping day-to-day logistics activities running smoothly, with responsibility for moving cargo efficiently and coordinating execution across the shipment cycle.
Core responsibilities
- Oversee the shipment process from start to finish.
- Support operations for sea freight, road transport, and cross-border movements.
- Work closely with shipping lines, transport providers, and customers.
- Manage customs clearance activities and related procedures.
- Coordinate warehouse-related operations.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain shipping documents.
- Monitor shipment progress and keep clients informed.
- Address and resolve operational challenges as they arise.
Key competencies
- Solid grasp of supply chain principles.
- Practical knowledge of freight forwarding operations.
- Familiarity with customs processes and warehousing.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a well-organized working style.
Minimum requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding within Eastern Africa.
- Understanding of customs procedures for both local and transit movements.
- Knowledge of road networks and transit corridors across East Africa.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English and Swahili.
- Basic proficiency with computers.

- Shipments are executed on time.
- Documentation is accurate and complete.
- Clients remain satisfied with service delivery.
- Operations stay compliant with applicable regulations.
