Role overview
Amazon is looking for a Team Lead to support the GSF NOW Transportation function. The role focuses on coordinating with hubs, spokes, logistics partners, and other internal and external stakeholders to keep line-haul operations running smoothly across the GSF NOW network. You will act as the first point of contact for operational escalations, drive issue resolution with the relevant teams, and help prevent repeat failures.
In this position, you will also contribute to improving VRID hygiene, accrual accuracy, in-transit loss reduction, driver safety culture, truck utilization, and zonal-level initiatives such as Totes, PFS, and other projects. The job involves shift-based coverage during business-as-usual operations while also supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Key responsibilities
- Manage carrier onboarding and ongoing carrier coordination.
- Track carrier performance and support efforts to reduce vehicle cancellations.
- Support capacity planning through truck utilization analysis, vehicle right-sizing, and reduction of ad hoc capacity.
- Prepare and review performance reports, including WBR.
- Work with SLP and carriers to lower in-transit losses and damages.
- Partner with Safety teams to strengthen yard and road safety practices.
- Handle site management activities and operational coordination.
- Align vehicle fleet plans with the required stakeholders.
- Provide distance and transit-time inputs for all OD pairs.
- Monitor FCND and YMS check-in cases.
- Collaborate with sites to reduce unloading dwell time.
- Support compliance and program-related activities.
- Ensure adherence to R4D, R4C, GPS compliance, registration compliance, and BGV requirements.
Required qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Strong verbal and written command of English is necessary.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Excel experience is preferred.
