Overview
Join a forward-thinking global education team as an Online Teacher specializing in Pre-IG Social Science. This role involves delivering live, interactive online lessons to students worldwide, enhancing their foundational understanding and analytical capabilities in social sciences prior to their IGCSE/IG studies.
Working Hours
Classes are scheduled according to Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) on Mondays and Fridays at 11:00 AM.
Core Duties
- Design and execute engaging live Social Science lessons catering to a diverse international student body.
- Employ varied teaching methodologies and digital platforms to maintain an interactive and encouraging online learning environment.
- Monitor student achievements, offer precise feedback, and adjust instructional methods to optimize educational outcomes.
- Develop and communicate detailed course plans including lesson outlines and assessment timelines.
- Lead professional live class sessions utilizing the academy’s online tools and educational resources.
- Create meaningful homework assignments, conduct assessments, and provide supportive feedback to promote student development.
- Produce comprehensive educational content such as tests and exams, contributing to the institution's resource repository.
- Oversee the online classroom on the Canvas platform, ensuring it is well-organized with easy student access to assignments and evaluations.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of teaching experience in high school settings (grades 9–12), excluding tutoring roles.
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Social Science, Humanities, History, Geography, Economics, or related disciplines.
- Strong communication capabilities to effectively engage with students, their families, and academic teams.
- Familiarity and enthusiasm for online teaching platforms and technologically innovative education methods.
- Thorough knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE and Pre-IG Social Science curriculum and evaluation standards.
Preferred Credentials
- Formal teaching certification (such as a postgraduate teaching certificate, degree, or license).
- Prior experience teaching online.
- Experience preparing students for Cambridge International or IGCSE exams, including transitioning learners from group settings to personalized instruction.
