Role Overview
The Online Bidder, also known as a Business Development Executive, plays a crucial role in expanding business by locating, bidding on, and securing contracts on various freelancing platforms. The primary responsibility involves turning prospects into profitable contracts through well-crafted proposals, effective communication with international clients, and successful deal closures.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage presence on freelancing marketplaces such as Upwork, Freelancer, Fiverr, and Guru, actively tracking and submitting bids.
- Create personalized, persuasive, and error-free proposals that address specific client project needs and challenges.
- Engage potential clients through email, chat, and voice or video calls to discuss services, estimate pricing, and negotiate terms.
- Conduct research on market trends, analyze competitors, and identify potential clients to build a robust pipeline of opportunities.
- Coordinate internally with technical and creative teams like developers, designers, and writers to understand project details and ensure successful delivery.
- Maintain organized records of all bidding activities, proposals sent, and their outcomes for future reference.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English for clear communication with international clients.
- Demonstrated experience with freelancing bidding platforms and a thorough understanding of bidding processes.
- Basic familiarity with the technical services offered, such as web development, mobile applications, or digital marketing, is highly advantageous.
- Strong sales skills including negotiation, persuasion, closing techniques, and a results-oriented approach.
- Preferably holds a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields; however, a proven record of successful sales and a solid portfolio are highly valued.
