Job description
Role overview
Qantas, established in 1920 in Queensland’s outback, has become Australia’s largest regional, domestic, and international airline. The Group also includes subsidiary businesses that help keep operations running smoothly, with Qantas and Jetstar providing regional, domestic, and international passenger and freight services.
We are seeking an Offshore Supply Chain Support Coordinator to assist with Qantas Engineering base maintenance checks carried out with offshore MRO partners. Although the position is Sydney-based, it requires extended periods of travel and on-the-ground support in Abu Dhabi, Dresden, China, Manila, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
This is a full-time fixed-term role for 12 months.
What you’ll be doing
- Support base maintenance checks by coordinating the supply chain activity needed for offshore operations.
- Work with MRO partners, the on-site Check Coordinator, and the Team Leader for Line and Base Event Management to keep maintenance support moving.
- Organise parts supply for base checks, including monitoring deliveries, handling unserviceable returns, and recording usage in SUPPLY.
- Create and process demands, then follow through with receipting so that parts are available when maintenance schedules require them.
- Build productive working relationships across the offshore network to help deliver results in a fast-moving and high-pressure environment.
- Spend extended time with offshore teams to make sure day-to-day activity is supported effectively on site.
What we’re looking for
- Practical experience across supply chain activities such as purchasing, repair, warehousing, and inventory control.
- Working knowledge of SUPPLY, MS Teams, Mxi, Outlook, ONBASE, QMS, eSchenker, QF Freight, Excel, and SUPPLY macros.
- Good understanding of aircraft line and base maintenance operations.
- Ability to solve problems in a flexible and inventive way.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, including cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Ability to stay effective under pressure, manage time well, and meet deadlines.
- Comfort working independently and achieving outcomes without close supervision.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of tasks.
- Willingness and ability to undertake extended international travel in support of offshore operations.
Why join Qantas
You’ll be part of a team that values creativity, passion, and strong performance. The role offers opportunities to build your career, develop professionally, and contribute meaningfully to the business. You will receive support from your first day through on-the-job coaching, formal training, and ongoing development opportunities.
Employee benefits
- Highly discounted air travel for you, your family, and friends across Australia and overseas, plus access to travel and holiday offers.
- Flexible leave options, including 14 weeks of paid parental leave and the option to buy additional paid leave for eligible employees.
- Access to a wide range of rewards and discounts covering shopping, food and wine, insurance, health and wellbeing, leisure, and entertainment.
- Salary packaging options, including motor vehicles, eligible portable electronic devices, and professional memberships.
- Wellbeing support such as mental health learning resources, a wellbeing app, and tailored nutrition planning.
- Opportunities to take on projects, grow your skills, and build a long-term career with room to move in many directions.
