Role overview
Join Citi’s Securities Services team in Gurgaon, India, as an Officer, Securities & Derivatives Analyst. What you will do
The role focuses on end-to-end securities and derivatives operations, trade processing, settlement, reconciliations, controls, and client support. Responsibilities vary by level (C09 or C10), but both require strong capital markets knowledge, familiarity with trade life cycle activities, and the ability to work accurately in a high-volume environment.
C09 responsibilities
- Manage trade processing and settlement across equities, fixed income, FX, and complex OTC instruments.
- Use Aladdin effectively and apply strong knowledge of capital markets.
- Understand post-trade operations and the full trade life cycle.
- Handle corporate actions, collateral management, fund order processing, interest payments, cash and stock reconciliations, and reference data updates.
- Verify trade bookings and confirm accuracy of submitted instructions.
- Create and match trade confirmations using ISDA templates.
- Complete settlement work and daily revaluation tasks within required timelines.
- Route transaction issues to the right teams and support resolution.
- Respond to client and counterparty queries promptly through phone and other channels.
- Follow established procedures to reduce breaks and keep metrics current and accurate.
- Carry out regulatory controls, account reconciliations, and records retention in line with policy.
- Apply sound judgment on risk, compliance, and ethical conduct while escalating control issues transparently.
C10 responsibilities
- Perform end-to-end trade processing and settlement across equities, fixed income, FX, and complex OTC products.
- Apply strong capital markets knowledge and practical experience with Aladdin.
- Work with trade life cycle activities and post-trade operations in depth.
- Manage corporate actions, collateral management, fund order processing, interest payments, cash and stock reconciliations, and reference data.
- Operate effectively in a high-volume, high-risk environment.
- Process securities transactions, provide analytical support to traders, and assist in reviewing derivative products.
- Identify and resolve settlement issues and recommend process improvements to leadership.
- Review moderately complex reports to support management, control activities, and product launches.
- Monitor errors and suggest fixes that reduce risk to the bank.
- Escalate processing issues and work with the relevant teams toward solutions.
- Design and analyze moderately complex reports in line with leadership standards.
- Support control activities and the rollout of new products and services.
- Ensure compliance with audit and control requirements.
- Apply risk awareness, legal and regulatory compliance, ethical judgment, and transparent escalation of issues.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant has 3 to 7 years of relevant experience, a working understanding of treasury products, accounting, and regulatory policies, and the ability to manage several tasks at once in a demanding environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills and comfort in a fast-paced setting are important.
