Officer, Loss Prevention

Role overview

This position is part of the security and loss prevention team at a luxury hotel in Doha. The role focuses on protecting guests, employees, and property while maintaining a calm, professional environment and supporting the hotel's service standards.

Key duties

• Monitor the property by patrolling all areas and assisting guests with access to rooms when needed.
• Keep watch over CCTV, perimeter alarms, duress alarms, and fire and life safety systems.
• Secure entrances as required and carry out routine checks to identify physical hazards.
• Respond quickly to accidents and emergencies, including contacting emergency services or giving first aid/CPR when appropriate.
• Support guests and employees during urgent situations and alert the right people when incidents, attacks, or other serious events occur.
• Manage disturbances, complaints, and interruptions while helping restore order.
• Remove unwelcome individuals from the property without affecting normal operations.
• Attend vehicle accident or theft scenes and request assistance using the correct code procedures.
• Prepare incident reports, daily activity reports, and shift summaries related to security and loss prevention matters.
• Maintain confidentiality of reports, documents, and sensitive property information, sharing details only with authorized personnel.
• Conduct investigations, collect evidence, and interview relevant parties when incidents need follow-up.

• Follow company policies, procedures, and safety rules, and report injuries, accidents, or unsafe conditions to management.
• Complete required safety training and certifications.
• Keep uniform and personal presentation neat, clean, and professional at all times.
• Greet guests according to service standards, respond to their needs, and assist people with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Build positive working relationships and cooperate with teammates to achieve shared goals.
• Meet quality standards and perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Be prepared to stand, sit, or walk for long periods and move quickly when situations demand it.
• Read and verify information in multiple formats, including small print.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and systems for defects and use computers or POS systems to find and enter work-related information.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 50 pounds alone and heavier items with help, and work in confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, or stairway areas.
• Use hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for handling objects of different shapes and weights, and bend, stoop, twist, pull, and reach as needed.

Qualifications

The preferred education level is a high school diploma or GED equivalent. No prior related work experience is required, and supervisory experience is also not needed. No license or certification is specified, although certain states may require additional registration or licensing to be eligible for this role.
