Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC), founded in 2006 through a partnership between Mubadala and the United Kingdom’s Imperial College London, is internationally acknowledged for excellence in diabetes and endocrine treatment, education, and research. With four centers across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra, ICLDEC offers holistic, integrated care for patients with diabetes and related endocrine disorders including comprehensive treatment, research initiatives, training, and awareness programs.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Service Line Manager, the Officer in Insurance Services is responsible for managing insurance-related functions to support diabetes patients’ treatments. This includes confirming insurance eligibility and prior approvals, processing claim submissions accurately for prompt reimbursement, resolving insurance inquiries for both patients and staff, and ensuring compliance with billing guidelines. The role also involves coordinating information updates between clinical teams and insurance entities, monitoring payment follow-ups, maintaining detailed documentation of claims, facilitating internal audits, and mentoring newly recruited staff members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confirm insurance eligibility and obtain necessary approvals prior to treatment.
  • Process insurance claims precisely to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Address and resolve insurance-related questions from patients and colleagues.
  • Ensure all billing processes comply with established policies and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and frontline personnel to keep insurance and billing information current.
  • Monitor payment receipt and reconcile incoming remittances.
  • Maintain organized records of all claims and insurance documentation.
  • Support audit activities and provide training for new insurance team members.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Possession of a valid Medical Coding Certification is compulsory.
  • Demonstrated experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is essential.
  • At least two years of experience managing pre-approval insurance processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to present information impartially and produce accurate reports.
