About the Role
Located in Krishnapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, this position reports to the Manager - Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). The Officer will be responsible for ensuring efficient operation and maintenance of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), including chemical usage and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate ETP processes smoothly, encompassing preliminary treatment (oil removal, pH correction), primary chemical and physical treatment, and secondary biological treatment with clarifiers.
- Manage Waste Water Recycling Plant (WWRP) operations including pretreatment, Multimedia Gravity Filter (MGF), Activated Carbon Filter (ACF), Ultrafiltration (UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO), and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems.
- Maintain detailed records of chemical consumption and stock levels to ensure availability and control.
- Conduct regular backwashing of MGF, ACF, and UF units to maintain operational efficiency.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper housekeeping throughout the ETP area.
- Perform precise chemical dosing in ETP, UF and RO systems based on water quality analyses.
- Enforce strict workplace safety practices and procedures.
- Prepare and update daily logs documenting effluent volumes generated, treated, water recovery, and RO reject volumes.
- Keep accurate maintenance work records to support timely interventions and repairs.
- Manage solid waste generated from ETP processes, including proper removal and handling.
- Facilitate pre-shift risk assessments and conduct toolbox talks with the team to reinforce safety and operational awareness.
- Analyze inlet and outlet water parameters to monitor treatment effectiveness and compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Educational qualification: ITI or Diploma in relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience operating ETP and related water treatment plants.
- In-depth knowledge of ETP, Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Multiple Effect Evaporation (MEE) plants and compliance with Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) norms.
- Proficient in the operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of RO plants.
- Familiarity with Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
