About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Farm Manager to oversee all operations of a 200-acre bamboo plantation located in Roha, District Raigad. This role involves comprehensive management throughout the entire plantation lifecycle, including land preparation, planting, maintenance, harvesting, and collaboration with government agricultural schemes. The manager will report directly to the owner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and oversee land preparation, including pit excavation, planting layouts, and species selection with expert consultation.
  • Manage nursery tasks, acquire planting materials, and establish plantations.
  • Supervise irrigation systems such as drip irrigation, fertigation, mulching, and ensure soil health.
  • Detect and control pest infestations, diseases, and weed growth while practicing clump management and thinning.
  • Recruit and manage farm laborers; keep accurate attendance and wage records.
  • Organize harvesting schedules and oversee bamboo cutting, curing or treatment, storage, and delivery.
  • Maintain detailed farm records covering inputs, expenses, yields, and machinery logs; provide periodic management information system (MIS) reports to the owner.
  • Coordinate with relevant Agriculture and Forest Departments to secure subsidies and approvals, including under the Atal Bamboo Samruddhi Yojana and National Bamboo Mission schemes.
  • Communicate with vendors for necessary inputs, machinery, transport logistics, and buyers for crop sales.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree holders in B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Agriculture, Horticulture, or Forestry are preferred. Alternatively, a diploma or certificate in bamboo cultivation from recognized institutes (e.g., BRTC Chichpalli, KONBAC, or agricultural polytechnic) is acceptable.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in plantation or farm management, with preferred exposure to bamboo cultivation, horticulture, or agroforestry.
  • Familiarity with government agricultural subsidy schemes and basic administrative documentation.
  • Capability to lead labor teams and communicate fluently in Marathi; basic proficiency in Hindi or English for reporting purposes.
  • Willingness to reside near the farm and possess a valid driving license plus two-wheeler vehicle is an advantage.
  • Basic computer and smartphone skills for handling records, photos, and reporting via applications like Excel and WhatsApp.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Attractive salary package ranging between INR 300,000 to 500,000 per annum with potential for performance-based increments.
