Job description

About the Organisation

Scope is dedicated to creating real opportunities for people with disability so they can belong, participate and thrive. The organisation supports people with physical, intellectual and multiple disabilities to work toward their goals. As a registered NDIS provider, Scope delivers support across more than 420 service locations in Victoria and New South Wales, including supported independent living, short-term accommodation (respite), social connection programs, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services.

About the Role

In this position, you will deliver occupational therapy services that respond to client needs, build on individual strengths and support practical long-term outcomes. The role involves providing goal-focused therapy to children and young teens, or older teens and adults depending on your scope of practice. You will work collaboratively with significant others and other supports to promote wellbeing, daily functioning and participation in community life across a range of environments.

You will also work across different clinical settings to create and review individual therapy and support plans, making sure the goals are relevant, meaningful and aligned with each person’s own priorities. In addition, you will share clear, current information about suitable services so clients can make informed decisions.

About You

The ideal candidate is someone who strongly believes in the mission of helping each person supported to live as an equal and empowered citizen. You should bring experience as a clinician, ideally with a background in disability services. A human-centred mindset, a strength-based approach and a commitment to inclusion and participation are essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are also important.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you will need to meet the following conditions:

  • A current driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle
  • Current registration as a practising member with AHPRA or another relevant peak professional body
  • An NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance and an Employee Working with Children Check
  • Proof of valid Australian working rights
  • If you have lived or worked overseas for more than one year within the last 10 years, an international police check is also required

Benefits

Scope offers access to an employee benefits platform designed to support wellbeing and financial flexibility. Benefits include salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year for everyday expenses such as rent, mortgage, groceries and petrol, which can help increase take-home pay. Additional meal and entertainment packaging may also be available up to around $2,600 per year.

Employees can also access a purchased leave scheme for extra time off beyond standard leave entitlements. New team members receive paid orientation and ongoing training, with further skill-building and career development opportunities across therapy, support work and other pathways. Staff may also be eligible for up to $1,500 per year for professional development in addition to internal PD support.

Other benefits include confidential Employee Assistance Program support for mental health and wellbeing, plus Smart Spending vouchers with discounts from retailers such as Coles, Kmart and JB Hi-Fi, available through the app and usable in-store or online.
