Role Overview
The Occupational Health & Safety Officer will help maintain a safe working environment across all facilities by ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening safety practices, and supporting continuous improvement in workplace health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance with occupational health and safety laws, internal policies, and operational procedures across all sites.
- Carry out routine inspections, safety audits, and risk evaluations to detect hazards and reduce exposure.
- Review incidents, accidents, and near-miss events, then recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Track the rollout of safety initiatives and verify that approved procedures are being followed.
- Plan and deliver safety awareness activities and employee training sessions.
- Keep accurate records, reports, and documentation related to safety performance and incidents.
- Encourage a strong safety mindset among staff, contractors, and visitors.
- Escalate unsafe conditions, behaviors, or equipment issues and follow up to ensure corrective action is completed in a timely manner.
- Assist with emergency readiness planning, drills, and response coordination.
Requirements
- Must be a Saudi national.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a similar discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in occupational health and safety.
- Prior exposure to healthcare environments is preferred.
- Experience with JCI and CBAHI standards is preferred.
- Valid occupational health and safety certifications such as NEBOSH and OSHA are required.
- Classification by the Ministry of HRSD is required.
- Experience working in a multicultural workplace is expected.
- Solid understanding of OHS regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety best practices.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Excellent reporting, coordination, and organizational abilities.
